Minister Underlines Iran's Readiness to Assist Iraq's Oil Industry

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh underlined his ministry's readiness for rendering technical and engineering services to Iraq in a bid to reconstruct its oil exports infrastructures.

"Iran would help Iraq with its oil exports if the latter asked Tehran for assistance," said the minister on Tuesday.

"The turmoil in Iraq is the reason Iran is delaying its gas exports to Baghdad," Zanganeh further added.

Iran and Iraq have enjoyed growing ties ever since the overthrow of the former Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hussein, during the 2003 US invasion of the Muslim country.
